MEDIA EXPERIENCE

Reporter
The Waukesha Freeman -- Waukesha, WI

June 2025 – Present

As a reporter at The Waukesha Freeman, I cover municipal government, infrastructure, community events, and business developments across Waukesha County. My daily roles involve pitching and developing story ideas, conducting in-depth interviews, and reporting on local meetings to deliver clear and accurate coverage on tight deadlines. I translate complex policy discussions into accessible news, highlight human-interest stories that reflect community impact, and produce accompanying photography for print newspaper stories. Through building strong relationships with local officials, organizations, and residents, I consistently generate compelling, well-sourced stories while balancing multiple assignments every day.

As a reporting intern at The Waukesha Freeman, I covered a variety of local news stories for print publication. My reporting ranged from government meetings and community events to feature stories on topics like We Energies’ winter savings tips, HAWS animal shelter, and a reptile-based therapy program called Reptiles & Resiliency. I conducted interviews with public officials, nonprofit leaders, and residents. I pitched original story ideas, followed AP style, and consistently met tight deadlines while strengthening my skills in writing, research, and news judgment.
